It does seem to be more common in North and East London than it is South of the river. I must admit, coming from South East London, it's not an accent I've heard anyone I know speak with. It's still rather cockney type accents than anything else, even with the younger generation. My brother is a few years younger than Abz and I certainly never heard any of his friends speak in that way.
